The Unofficial Guide to WordPress Themes
By admin on Jan 30, 2009 in Blogging, WordPress
Having an eye catching WordPress theme is essential to making your blog stand out & ensuring it’s overall success. Your visitors don’t want to see the same plain blue WordPress theme. Remember, you only have 7 seconds to grab, and lock in their attention.
There are endless lists of free themes on the web, as well as premium themes that offer you more customization options along with extra ease of use features. Ideally, you want to install a blog theme that actually has to do with your blogs theme. WordPress makes it so easy to install and activate a new theme, that there’s really no excuse why you shouldn’t have one. You don’t even need to know anything about PHP or programming!
What I mean by that is, if your blog is dedicated to guitars and guitarists, it would be ideal to install a theme that has something to do with guitars. You wouldn’t want to install a Hannah Montana theme in this example would you? As I said earlier, there are thousands and thousands of free themes online, and odds are at least 1 theme currently exists for your blogs overall theme. Below is a list of some of the best places online to get WordPress themes. This isn’t a complete list, but it will definitely get you started off in the right direction to obtaining a nice theme.
